Right?! It’s too much for me to keep up with right now. I miss it too! I love keeping up with friends on there but it’s so difficult with the algorithms to actually see what we want to see these days. 🙃
I’ve really been feeling the whole “I can’t hear myself think” feeling when it comes to social media. I’ve been feeling more and more of a pull to mute/unfollow a lot of those accounts that are basically online stores constantly telling me what I “need”. Definitely needed to read this! Here’s to being able to think for ourselves again.
Yes! That was my strategy for a long time. I've muted/unfollowed so many accounts. It's still frustrating on IG now though how so much content that I don't want to see just shows up with how they have changed the way the feed works. I miss being able to manage what I would see/not see on there like the good old days! ha! But I've felt so energized creatively in stepping away. It's working for me to take a break for now.
You put into words so eloquently what many of us feel 🤍 I’m amazed you’ve arrived at such a place of perspective and wisdom so early on (in motherhood and life in general). Love your words and so glad you’re making space to write them!
I remember a couple years ago talking to someone and saying “I don’t *need* a platform to podcast/write, right!?” The response, “no” gave me peace to just be myself as I went about the social media space… the commitment to ourselves is most important!!! Something I am still working on!!
